Answers to common questions about our shipyard consultancy & drydocking services.
We offer comprehensive shipyard consultancy including drydock specification preparation, yard tender and selection, contract negotiation, mobilisation planning, full-time repair supervision, quality control and inspection, class survey coordination, cost control and reporting, defect list management, and post-drydock reporting and owner representation.
Our drydock management process begins with a pre-drydock survey to assess the vessel's condition and prepare a comprehensive repair specification. We then tender the work to approved yards, negotiate the best price and terms, and assign an experienced superintendent to supervise all works in the yard. We coordinate class surveys, manage the critical path, and ensure quality standards are met before departure.
We work with yards in the Tuzla Ship Repair Zone (Istanbul), the Yalova, Altınova, and Çiğli (İzmir) clusters, as well as selected yards in the Black Sea region. The Tuzla zone alone contains over 40 repair yards ranging from small specialist shops to large facilities capable of accommodating VLCCs and large bulkers.
Yes. We provide owner's representative / owner's superintendent services for vessels in Turkish yards. Our superintendents have sea-going engineering experience and shore-based repair management expertise. They attend daily meetings, verify repair quality, manage additional work requests, and protect the owner's commercial and technical interests throughout the repair period.
We have experience managing drydockings for bulk carriers, tankers (product, crude, chemical), container ships, RoRo vessels, passenger ferries, OSVs, tugs, dredgers, and other commercial vessels. Both scheduled class drydocks and emergency repairs are within our scope.
